Snap

This is my photography final I tried to find it the other day on youtube but then I realized that it was too long for youtube so I never put it up. I think that I lost the original file in a hard drive crash a couple of years ago. I think I made this in three days. I followed Heather around without her knowing it. Was it stalking, hmmmm maybe, but she said that she liked the video and did not have me arrested. :-) I was supposed to make the sequel last year but never got around to it. Maybe this summer?

Griffin

My friends Jennifer and Keith have a little boy named Griffin. Today I dance for him.

Seperation Anxiety

I saw a commercial that I wanted to mimic. In this one there is a guy on a treadmill and his lower half starts going really fast while his upper half stays calm. I never saw it with the sound on so I have no idea what the commercial is about. In my version I do a double solo with a slight although unintentional forward motion. Wow.

YouTube goes mobile

The day has finally arrived when you can watch hundreds of millions of videos from youtube on your phone or mobile device. The site had previously offer a smaller number of videos for mobile devices but now a much larger percentage of the videos are online. Many times I have been telling people about danceaday.com and wished that I could show them the videos and now I can. I just watched a few of my videos including the one I just uploaded. The best part, no ads. Well we know that won't be true for long but yeah for youtube. I still like blip.tv it is how I get my videos to iTunes, myspace and danceaday.com.

JCC 5

This is the fifth dance of six performed live at the Rockville JCC. Music by David Morneau.

JCC Tech

A concert does not happen because dancers take to the stage. Lot of things happen backstage as well. This video is a tribute to the crew. For this video David and Paul represent for the crew and all those who work behind the scenes to make what we do happen. David Morneau composed a work using some Nine Inch Nails. I think he should cut those things. :-)

JCC 1 Live

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Yesterday I did 6 dances in front of a live audience to music by David Morneau. I asked David for 6 pieces that he had from his 60x365 site. The audience members took turns taping me. It was a fun experiment and I can't wait to do it again. Thanks Kelly for helping me out. Thanks Bunnye for the opportunity. Thanks to everyone who taped me

Dancing by the Bayou

Michael and Sharon teach Zydeco at Glen Echo and they are having a Mardi Gras celebration on Feb 5th (Fat Tuesday) Check out their website dancingbythebayou.com.

I sent this video to David Morneau and he decided to subvert the happy zedyco music being played by Jazzy Jan at the Old Town Trolley holiday party. So if you want to hear how they do it in zedyco mode, join in for a class or 50. Come to the Mardi Gras celebration, it will be the most fun you will have on a Tuesday night. I promise.

Heavy Equipment

You know how when you are sleeping and you have the day off you just want to stay in bed all day. Then the trash truck comes by and the guys are yelling and the truck is backing up, a lot. Then a jackhammer begins and you say to yourself. "What have I done to deserve this" I decided to investigate with some dancing.

Hoke High

This is my high school. Sarah Baucom who has a building in what was our parking lot was my English teacher. There is so much trauma in high school and so many good times. I started dancing, performed with my band Dirty Minds, played football, ran track, band, chorus, won a poetry contest, kissed a girl in the sound proof chorus room and almost dated someone.

Upchurch

When my parents went to school, this was the black school. My mom was vice president of her high school class. When my sister and I went to school it was a jr high school and we went here for 7th and 8th grade. This is where I implemented my plan to become popular by joining the chorus and becoming the strongest guy in the school by pretending to take ballet lessons. I also started playing football and became interested in girls, but from a distance.

West Hoke

This was my elementary school. The first school I ever went to. I remember taking the bus and how big it seemed then. I sat next to Jenny Ellis because I thought she was cuuuuuute. I still remember her saying in the first grade "get away from me boy" Oh to be six again. I got into one fight. Some older kids got in trouble for taunting me to fight Willis Jones and I did. I was so scared of Mrs Lyons and Mrs Lupo. And Willie stole my easter eggs in the easter egg hunt and got the big chocolate bunny while I got a small one. Richard and Ferente beat me up all the time and Alexander Terry threw a tennis ball at me and I still have a scar over my eye. I thought Mr Livingston was the best teacher ever.

Loose Change

This week David Morneau sent me some loose change, or rather a recording of some loose change. I think he is wondering when all of this free dance and music will pay off. Hmmmm.Well I don't know but if anyone out there wants to sponsor us we will be happy to keep doing what we do and more. I have been watching a lot of vloggers and there is a vlogger style out there that I have been trying to capture. I have not added random text but then again I don't really talk much in my videos either. The cat is Copper, a very cool head butting feline.

Turkey Plant

When I was a little kid, I remember seeing my dad play baseball in this park. We would go watch him play and his knees would get all bloody from sliding into the bases. That site frightened me and I was never into sports because of it. I can still see my mom tending to him, wrapping his bloody knees with bandages and the next week he would be at it again. The field was across from House of Raeford Farms it is a turkey processing plant. It smelled bad and the people who worked there smelled bad too. I still can smell the turkeys in small crates on trucks heading to the turkey plant, ewwww. Anyway every year there is a festival held in Raeford calledthe NC Turkey Festival and you should come and check it out.

Happy New Year 2008

I spent new years eve working the masquerade ball with a video camera in my hand. Todd stood on a table to see what he could see. Here I am dancing with the lovely Rebecca at the Carnegie Library. I just love Sweden :-)
