Big Tree White Flowers

Meridian Hill Park, big tree, rainy day, dancing.

Cherry Blossom Tree

This cherry blossom tree is in Meridian Hill Park or Malcolm X Park. I decided to do some dances with my eyes closed. David Morneau created some cherry blossom music and is waiting for the trees to bloom in Columbus, OH.

Champorama

I like this mural in Champorama park. I looked for it earlier but did not realize it was on the opposite side of the street. The mural is by Aniekan Udofia.

Kelly on a box

So this video was from last July and it is not quite a mural but I never used it and so now is the time. Kelly and I were hanging out with Rob and as we headed home we did one last dance on a box.

Pinocchio

I was going down Rhode Island Ave and I saw this mural on the side of a building so I stopped to check it out.

Asia Nora

Nora is one excellent restaurant. Really amazing organic food that will cost you but you will love it. I never made it to Asia Nora before it went out of business but I did manage to spot a G. Byron Peck mural to dance in front of there.

Dupont Mural

David Morneau sent me some cool music and I did a dance in Dupont Circle. The mural is by G. Byron Peck.

Marvin, Denise, Roberta

I found this mural on my way to Baltimore for ACDFA last week. I guess I did not find it I had seen it before but now that I am dancing in front of murals, it jumped out at me. I like the fact that there are dancers in this one.

Boris and Shallom Collaboration

Shallom and I are collaborating on a dance or maybe just some movement,  over the Internet. We shall see what becomes of it.

Wizard of Oz

This mural is in Stead Park on P St between 16th and 17th. The park is cool during the day but at night you can see many many rats wandering around the basketball court playing a version of rat basketball.

Lincoln Building

This mural was right under my nose. I was at work when I looked up and saw it. Sarah thought I should do the dance in my Trolley costume so I did. The two guys yelling at me in the background are Fred and Cash. I look over and give them dirty looks but then I have to go to the Cathedral to start a tour.

Big Wall

I was doing my thing when this guy started talking to me. He is the reason that I was able to do the previous dances by State of the Union because I would not have known about them othewise.

zDoorway

Some may ask why I jump for joy. Perhaps I will tell you. I stand in the doorway, not knowing what is on the other side. Overjoyed? I am. But still I wait in the doorway not wanting to walk away.

Hammer and Sickle

Still in the alley behind State of the Union. Lots of painting back there.

Graffiti in the Alley

More of the alley next to State of the Union and some really cool graffiti inspired murals. I think. This dance is for Ming who had us swing our arms like this for the Vernon Reid Project except I only did it once or twice cuz I'm old.

Countdown

I sent David Morneau this video and he sent me some music back and his only comment was "hehe" I was walking down 14th Street when I saw this mural. I almost passed it by.

Madam's Organ

Another mural that I like in Adams Morgan is on the side of the Madam's Organ building.

Cafe Lautrec

Back in the day we used to go to Cafe Lautrec to eat, drink and watch Johne Forges sing and tap dance across the bar. The place has gone through many changes and is now closed but the mural is still there.

Boris and Shik

I was hanging out with Shik and we both followed the same path to make our dances. I placed the dances side by side.

Marilyn Monroe

I decided that this month I would dance by some famous outdoor art and I start things off with one of my favorites. This is a painting of Marilyn Monroe by John Bailey. It was created for Roi Barnard's 40th birthday.

Cheles's Birthday

Ok so we went out for Cheles's birthday and at the end of the night I got a few people together and taped some dancing. The first image was supposed to be of the famous Beatles album cover except it was at night.

Leap Day

Today is leap day. It only happens once every four years like the election and the election is happening this year too. I convinced my pals Adam and Larry to leap for Leap Year and then we got some passer's by to leap as well. David Morneau is off at some cool festival playing his awesome music but he still had time for little old danceaday. Today he makes us some leap music. Check out what he is up to today for leap day at http://60x365.com. Hey David there are 366 days this year. . . no answer, well go to his site and see what he is doing for leap day. Also if anyone want to marry me today would be the day to ask according to tradition.

YouTube not crossposting

If  you check this blog you will notice that it has not been updated in a while. This is partially my neglect and partially because YouTube crossposting to this blog is not working. GRRRR. Hopefully they will fix it soon but for now I will add videos from blip.tv. You can always go to danceaday.com for the latest.
